Automated guided vehicles (AGVs) have become indispensable in modern logistics and production environments. Our SENTIR safety contact bumpers protect these vehicles all round: when they come into contact with people or obstacles, they immediately detect the contact and automatically stop the vehicle. The flexible, shock-absorbing bumpers are individually adjustable and offer optimum protection for people, machines and materials – even in confined driving areas and in high-traffic conditions.
Our SENTIR safety contact mats are often used on electrically powered lift trucks – there they reliably detect the presence of people.
Conveyor Technology
Transfer trolleys, tool change trolleys, heavy-duty trolleys and other mobile peripherals represent moving masses that are safely stopped by our SENTIR safety contact bumpers or SENTIR safety contact edges when activated, thus offering maximum range of action for people and machines.The top priority of the contact bumper is the protection of people and property, which is why stopping distances are gently cushioned by the individually customisable foam core. The integrated sensor in the SENTIR bumper, which is also developed and manufactured in-house, also ensures the fastest possible response times. The synthetic leather cover not only looks and feels great, but also offers maximum dimensional stability and a secure barrier against external influences. The patented double chamber system of the SENTIR safety edge guards offers excellent switching behaviour and, thanks to the internal switching chamber with integrated sensor element, optimum protection against external influences. This ensures optimum cycle times and continuous process stability, especially in transport technology.
Our ELMON safety relay ensures safe shutdown in the event of activation. Depending on the specification, requirements regarding safety category, interface and number of sensors to be monitored can be met.
Lifting and Access Technology
The wide range of movement options offered by modern access technology – whether work platforms, lifting vehicles or other vertically and horizontally movable systems – brings with it an increased risk of crushing and shearing hazards for people and materials due to its flexibility.
Our safety contact elements are used to counteract this: SENTIR edge contact edges, SENTIR mat contact mats and SENTIR bumper contact bumpers deliver reliable switching pulses at the right moment. Supplemented by ELMON relay switching devices, these signals are evaluated safely and in accordance with standards.
Contact edges reliably interrupt the movement sequence in the event of crushing, while contact bumpers offer additional protection thanks to their generous buffer zone. Contact mats detect the presence of the driver in order picking vehicles, for example, or secure the danger zone under lifting equipment – to prevent injuries during lowering.
The SENTIR mat in particular offers a wide range of design options: in terms of shape, surface, zone division, colour or even with lighting. Tailor-made solutions are a matter of course – for optimum integration into the respective application and safe and efficient operation.
Forklifts
Forklifts are expected to work faster and more efficiently, maximise the transport of materials and still offer operators a high level of comfort and safety.
Our SENTIR mat safety contact mats support this. When the mat is stepped on, the operator’s presence is detected and the vehicle can perform all of its functions. Highly flexible in design, the contact mat contributes to safety and driving comfort as an integral part of the vehicle thanks to its visual and functional integration. Its low height, special hardness/softness properties and ergonomically adjustable surface structure make standing on the mat for long periods more comfortable than ever. The mat is not affected by vibrations caused by bumps, dusty, damp or cold environmental conditions. Additional features such as integrated and colour-contrasting foot switches are not uncommon. LED status indicators can also be integrated into the contact mat. Our SENTIR mat has another functional application in the safety of aerial work platforms: if the base platform is accessed without authorisation, the platform cannot be lowered, thus preventing dangerous situations from arising below the operator’s basket. In addition, our SENTIR bumper contact bumpers can surround the operator basket to prevent it from causing damage to facades, for example, and to generate a safe stop signal in the event of contact.
