With the latest software update for
LISENS scan, ASO Safety Solutions is taking another step forward in the development of contactless safety solutions for barrier systems. The focus was not only on new functions, but above all on even simpler operation and greater robustness of the overall system. Both contribute to further improving the availability of barrier systems in daily operation.
The benefits of the update are particularly evident in the installation and service environment. Commissioning has been significantly simplified and accelerated, while operational reliability during ongoing use has been increased. For operators, this means less effort during setup and a more reliable system in everyday use.

An important basis for this is the revised user guidance.
The user interface has been structured more clearly and supplemented with sensibly coordinated default settings. Dependencies between individual parameters are automatically taken into account, so that many settings already match each other in the first step. In addition, the system automatically aligns other zones, such as comfort zones, with the defined safety zone. This reduces manual intervention, avoids typical configuration errors and ensures that the system is ready for operation more quickly. This approach pays off especially in systems with multiple sensors, as the setup remains consistent, clear and safe – even with more complex requirements.
On this basis, the range of functions of LISENS scan has been specifically expanded. The now freely adjustable relay switching times allow better adaptation to different control systems and barrier movements. For example, a barrier can close again immediately after a vehicle has passed through, without unnecessary delays. In addition, the sensitivity of the vehicle classification can be individually adjusted. Depending on the application, the focus can be either on maximum detection accuracy or on a particularly fast response from the system. This allows LISENS scan to be flexibly adapted to different traffic situations – for example, in mixed pedestrian and vehicle traffic or at busy access points.

Another aspect that has gained further importance with the update is the modular system concept of LISENS scan. Multiple sensors can be operated and configured together via a central evaluation unit. Unlike many commercially available solutions, sensors do not have to be parameterised or maintained individually. Instead, the entire system is set up and maintained via a central user interface. This significantly simplifies installation and service and ensures that all sensors work together optimally. This approach proves to be particularly efficient and flexible, especially in applications with separate entrances and exits or in larger systems.

Technologically, the software update continues to build on the proven features of the LISENS scan product series. The system uses modern 60 GHz FMCW radar technology to detect people and vehicles without contact, reliably distinguish between them and provide reliable protection. In addition to the freely configurable safety zone, two additional comfort zones are available, which can be used as virtual induction loops, among other things. This eliminates the need for costly structural measures. A total of three outputs are freely configurable, one of which is permanently assigned to the safety zone and the others are used for the comfort zones.
As usual, configuration is conveniently carried out via Wi-Fi using any Wi-Fi-enabled device – without an app and without an internet connection. Thanks to its flexible switching outputs, LISENS scan is compatible with almost any control system and is suitable for retrofitting existing systems as well as for initial equipment and direct integration into new barrier and system designs.
Parallel to the current software update, ASO Safety Solutions is already working on further developments. These include the planned certification of LISENS scan as a stand-alone safety device (‘E-Device’), which is being pursued in the near future. The aim is to further expand the system’s range of applications and, in the long term, to set new standards in the safety of barriers and access systems.
The new software update makes LISENS scan even more user-friendly, powerful and economical. It demonstrates ASO Safety Solutions’ commitment to continuously developing safety technology while always keeping in mind the practical requirements of installation, operation and maintenance.
